love letter to the Castiglioni brothers is a light sculpture on which you can pen your own sentiments of love. The “letter” itself is a light source, consisting of a bi-directional electroluminescent film that gives off light from both sides of a quality similar to candle light.
This version of love letter has a base formed of a marble cylinder that is an actual core from the making of the marble base of the renowned Arco lamp, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1962.
When visiting FLOS in Italy, we were able to watch the marble being cut and shaped for the Arco lamps. The marble cores - a byproduct of this process - now form the base of this version of love letter, designed as a tribute to the inspiration that the Castiglioni brothers have given through the delight and ingenuity of their designs.
