softhousing

softhousing (molo concept) seeks an innovative solution to homelessness. It consists of several expandable single occupancy rooms to be located within the shells of existing buildings. The first instance of softhousing, the First Step Softhouse, was conceived for installation in a former lodging house on the Bowery in New York City. When not in use, the rooms can be squeezed back to create an enlarged common area. softhouse is a not-for-profit project under development.
