molo, based in Vancouver, Canada, is a collaborative design and production studio led by Stephanie Forsythe (B.EDS, M.ARCH), Todd MacAllen (B.FA, B.EDS, M.ARCH) and Robert Pasut (B.COM, MBA). The molo studio is dedicated to the research of materials and the exploration of space making. As a design and manufacturing company, molo creates and distributes its unique and innovative products to clients around the world.

At the molo studio every day has at least one big surprise. We play seriously, work playfully and practice, practice, practice – recognizing that our work requires skill, focus and ambition all while maintaining the ability and desire to see things with fresh eyes and mind. molo is looking for the kind of people who sit at the front of the lecture, ask questions and engage with the lecturer, recognizing that those of us who choose to sit at the front are keen and want to be part of what is happening around us. Enthusiasm and the ability to genuinely engage are qualities we value; even shortcomings can become strengths if one has an aptitude for learning and a true eagerness to take part.

molo supports a collegial environment, encouraging cooperation and involvement. As members of a collegial environment we know when to act and when to respond to direction. To be able to ascertain when to act implies knowledge of how each role functions and how each role in the studio as an organizational whole interrelates. Individuals who exhibit this attribute tend to ask ‘why’ questions – we are interested in expanding our understanding of the studio as a business beyond the boundaries of our specific roles.
This way of working allows for cross-pollination of ideas, discovery, heightened communication and rigour. At the studio we see change as a normal, healthy and expected condition. This type of orientation is what we are looking for in prospective studio members: those who have had a creative hand in initiating and responding to constructive change rather than those who invest energies into maintaining the status quo.
